COMMITTED TO THE POWER OF FILM
Volunteering for the festival is a fun and fulfilling experience. We look forward to our volunteers joining the team each year and are always looking for new faces. If you volunteered for the 2020 festival, you will automatically be contacted with 2021 festival opportunities. If you are new to the festival, please click the button below and fill out the volunteer application.
Our organization creates economic impact through working with film productions coming to this area and the annual film festival. Other areas of impact are the Reel Learning school program for La Plata County students and free programs such as Coffee Talk with Filmmakers and Filmmaker Panels, which take place during the festival.
Look at ways your support goes to create a vital future for Durango Film and it’s programs:
- $75 – provides one school library a media literacy kit
- $150 – supports a single screening of a narrative or documentary feature film
- $250 – supports two night’s lodging for visiting filmmakers, actors, or VIPs
- $500 – provides travel for one special guest or film subject
- $1,000 – assists with busing students to venues for the Reel Learning program ($950 – $1,250)
- $1,000 – assists with one full day of educational film presentations for students
- $2,500 – sponsors Free Movie Night on Opening Night for the community
Your gift reinforces our efforts to draw visitors to La Plata County, to inspire and educate audiences and students in our community, and to support the independent filmmaker.
“I don’t think many businesses in Durango understand the importance of an overall marketing strategy. I think doing special event sponsorships is just as important as any advertising you do.” – Festival Sponsor
“Sponsoring the film festival is like being a part of a happening scene for one week – it’s thrilling, it’s scintillating, it’s fun.” – Festival Sponsor
The creativity never stops in our partnership with Cindy Coleman of Duck Girl Art. We will work on presenting creative ideas specific to your business to best tie your business messaging to our target market for a customized sponsorship package, or select one of our sponsorship levels with media and digital exposure and festival benefits to suit your company’s needs. With five screens at three venues around Durango, we look forward to working with you to create the highest impact placement for an engaging and meaningful sponsor experience.
Grant funding is another important source of funding for our 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Grants typically come from Colorado grantors, local grantors, and family foundations. Grantors will change from year to year as we are required to sometimes take a year or two off from applying to some grantors so we are always seeking grantors for general support or for our special programs, such as the Reel Learning school program and the Four Corners Film Office.
